Aspire Music Academy Foundation

Aspire Music Academy is committed to providing performing experiences for everyone, as well as supporting other performing organizations in achieving their goals.

Aspire has partnered with Springboard for the Arts in a charitable, non-profit fiscal sponsorship arrangement to create Aspire Music Academy Foundation.  The Foundation has two principal purposes: 1) Providing donation-supported tuition assistance to performers in need; 2) Providing access to physical assets related to the performing arts (sound equipment, platforms, props, costumes, etc.).

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

How is Aspire Music Academy different from singing in a regular choir?

Aspire Music Academy is designed to take performers from all over the Twin Cities Metropolitan Area, combining their gifts and talents to form outstanding choirs that perform and/or compete with excellence.  Our choirs are led and directed by proven and outstanding vocal educators and dance choreographers.  Aspire performers will be a part of intense rehearsals and will be encouraged and supported throughout to help them grow both individually and as a collective group.

What skills and experiences will Aspire Music Academy performers learn?

Aspire Music Academy teaches vocal performance, not just singing.  Performers learn about building self-confidence, growth in vocal and dance skills, learning to work with others in a safe and respectful environment, and of course, having an amazing time performing at their highest personal levels.

How is Aspire Music Academy different from taking voice lessons?

Voice lessons are designed only to grow the individual singer.  Aspire Music Academy choirs work to enhance an individual’s gifts and talents, but then combines those gifts with those of other performers who also love to sing to make wonderful experiences happen – the kind of experiences you can only get from working and performing with others.

Can I be in Aspire Music Academy and also take part in my school or church music and theatre program?

Absolutely.  Not only is enrollment in Aspire Music Academy complementary to singing in a school or church music or theatre program, it is expected that Aspire performers will take part in their school and church music and theatre programs and help to build and enhance those programs in ways that they could not have done without their participation in the Aspire Music Academy.

What do Aspire Music Academy performers wear to practice and perform?

Aspire Music Academy performers have designated performance clothing that differs by age and group.  Particular requirements are shared as each term begins.  Performance track groups may also have costumes for competitions.
